APRIL 2017 NEWS
April 1st—it may be April Fools Day, but we’re not joking about the great stuff coming your way this month and later this spring!
WHIRLIGIG PROGRESS
March saw us very busy in the studio, trying to get the new record completed before heading to England. Amongst last month’s accomplishments were Hammond C3 organ, 12-string guitars, and an assortment of other guitar and bass tracks. Still on the list to accomplish is piano, more organ, orchestration, vocals, and percussion. We also did a photoshoot and have made good headway with the artwork. With the able and frequent assistance of our trusty new tech Casey and long-time assistant Courtney we are feeling hopeful that it will be complete and in your hands very soon!
AS ABOVE SO BELOW REVIEW
We recently stumbled upon this review of our BAD PENNY OPERA single “As Above So Below” on HMONG Hub. Thanks for the kind words!
“Some awesome psychedelic pop is the order of the day with this amazing tune by The Cherry Bluestorms, a Los Angeles combo featuring Dickies guitarist Glen Laughlin, and front woman extraordinaire Deborah Gee! “As Above So Below” is from their new album, Bad Penny Opera, a concept album about the travels of Penny. Fans of Rainbow Quartz styled psychedelic pop (you know what I’m talking about) need to check out this album!”
