As some of you already know, the band has undergone some major changes. We have parted company with our rhythm section on friendly and amicable terms. Deborah and Glen will continue on as The Cherry Bluestorms and WHIRLIGIG! is still projected to be completed by summer’s end. We will have more news on that front in the coming days.

“We have been completing bass, percussion, keyboard and orchestral tracks for Whirligig!, leaving a fair amount of guitars and vocals yet to do before we mix. I have been mixing as I go to a large degree, so I am hopeful that that aspect will be relatively painless! In short, we are homing in on a finished product and the excitement is palpable. Of course, we have Deborah’s Geeology on the board as well. Believe it or not, we will immediately be ready to start recording the fourth Cherry Bluestorms album and the balance of what will be my first solo album after that. No shortage of creative projects in house here at Roundhouse! We are looking at expanding our personnel in the studio and in The Bluestorms, so stay tuned for more on all of that. Thanks to everyone for your generous support and interest. Much of this could not be done without you and there would be little point in the rest if you were not there. We love you guys!”

Meanwhile, the band are working on the video for “Seven League Boots”—the first single from WHIRLIGIG! As soon as the album is completed, we will announce a very special album release event.

Finally, please join all of us at Bluestorms Headquarters in wishing a very happy birthday to our Deborah Gee on August 14!
